Kausland Church (Norwegian: Kausland kyrkje) is a parish church in Sund municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kausland. The church is part of the Sund parish in the Vesthordland deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin.[1][2]
History
The white, wooden church was built in 1881 using designs by the architect Conrad Fredrik von der Lippe. The church, which seats about 400 people, was consecrated on 24 August 1881. The steeple on the church dates back to 1674. It originally sat on top of the old Sund Church, which was torn down in 1877 to build a new church and the steeple was moved here.[3]
