Kawartha Lakes Bible College (KLBC)[1] is a small evangelical Bible college located in Peterborough, Ontario.
History
KLBC was founded as Kawartha Lakes Bible School in 1973, which offered night classes in intensive biblical studies. In 1977 KLBS began operating as a full-time day school located at Edmison Heights Bible Chapel. Beginning in 1994 a second year program was started.[2] September 2001, KLBC opened the doors to the current 12.5 acre campus.[3]
Academics
KLBC offers a One year (Diploma of Biblical Studies) and a Two year (Diploma of Advanced Biblical Studies) program. Each of these years students receive approximately 550 hours of Bible training.[4]
- 17 Bible/ Theology Courses are offered. - 18 General/ Practical Courses are offered.[5]
Kawartha Lakes Bible College is not an accredited degree granting school, but it is recognized as an educational institution by the Government of Canada.[6] Students are able to apply for Government financial assistance.(Ontario Student Assistance Program)[7]
The college is recognized by the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education[8] and also by the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.[9]
Academic transfer
Graduates of the program can transfer course credits into a Bachelor program at a number of institutions. Examples are (not limited to); Heritage College and Seminary,[10] Emmaus Bible College,[11] Prairie Bible Institute[12]
