Kees Luijckx (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkeːs ˈlœy̯ks]) (born February 11, 1986 in Beverwijk, North Holland) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a centre back for Danish club SønderjyskE.

Club career

Luijckx began his career in his hometown Castricum with Vitesse 1922 and was than scouted 1996 from AZ. He played between 2006 on youth side for AZ before promoted to Eredivisie side, after one year only league appearances was loaned out to Excelsior Rotterdam in July 2007. Luyckx left than after only two games in the season 2007/2008 for Excelsior Rotterdam and turned back to AZ, here played in the season 2008/2009 fifteen games.[1] On 26 May 2009 his club announced his club plans without him and he will be searching a new club,[2] he was also linked with SC Freiburg and was on trial he was deleted to sign a contract on 30 August 2009. In January 2010 it became clear that Luijckx signed a three-years contract with NAC Breda. He will start as of July 2010 with his new club.[3] In 2015 he joined the Videoton FC in Hungary the reigning champion. Until today his biggest contribution to the team, were matches against BATE Borisov in the Champions League Qualifying Phase. During the first leg, he managed to score into his own goal (also called Devecsering), stating the final score as 1-1 in Hungary. In the second leg, he was much more careful, so instead of scoring another own goal, he got his second yellow card early in the second half (60th min). Providing BATE (again) with a wonderful opportunity the get into the next round, final score was 1-0 to BATE Bariszav (Барысаў).

On 20 September 2015 Luyckx, who was on a free agent, signed a half-year contract with Danish Superliga-side SønderjyskE.

International career

Luijckx is part of the Dutch Olympic side participating in the Beijing 2008 Olympics. He played as a substitute in the pre-Olympic ING Cup in Hong Kong, arriving in the second half for the injured Kew Jaliens.[4]
