Kevin Niviaen (Navayne) Brown (/nəˈveɪn/; born August 20, 1977) is a Jamaican-born fashion model, American actor and producer. He acts and models under the stage name which also happens to be his middle name of, Navayne.
Early life
Kevin was born in the city of Spanish Town, on the island of Jamaica.[1] He arrived to the states with his family at the age of 6 years old and grew up in the town of East Hartford, Connecticut. He is the middle child of 3 and was raised by his parents who have been married for over 40 years.
Career
He first appeared in the film Disappearing Acts as an extra. He then was discovered by a modeling agent and started modeling for designers Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Nautica, Sean John, Burberry, Versace, Givenchy, Hunter, John Varvatos, Ray Ban and Roberto Cavalli for print, editorial and commercial. He currently is represented by Ford Models, Group Model Management in Spain and models for MCQ Eyewear for Alexander McQueen.
In 2008 he appeared in the film, Days of Wrath, and modeled for the BET show Rip the Runway, and appeared in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
2009, saw Kevin appear in an series arch for the Lifetime Network hit show Army Wives.
In 2010 he obtained a recurring role as Detective Ray Jackson on CSI: NY.[2] Kevin also played Donovan in the Off Broadway play Foursome,[3] as well as appearing in an episode of the Syfy show Caprica[4] Kevin has signed on to play Charles McArther Emmanuel the son of the former Liberian President Charles Taylor in the move "American Warlord," in which Taylor became the first American to be convicted of a war crime. Kevin will also star in another bio pic while using his Jamaican background to play the civil rights hero Marcus Garvey.[5] Navayne is also in negotiations for an upcoming rags to riches film "The Onyx of Wall Street" in which Kevin will play an inner city drug dealer who eventually becomes one of Wall Street most's successful Hedge Fund Managers. Kevin wrapped up his directorial debut on a pilot for CBS about the life of commercial airline pilots.
