Kharagpur subdivision is a subdivision of the Paschim Medinipur district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Kharagpur municipality and ten community development blocks: DantanI, DantanII, Pingla, KharagpurI, KharagpurII, Sabang, Mohanpur, Narayangarh, Keshiari and Debra. The ten blocks contain three census towns and 99 gram panchayats. The subdivision has its headquarters at Kharagpur.

Area

Apart from the Kharagpur municipality, the subdivision contains three census towns and rural areas of 99 gram panchayats under ten community development blocks: DantanI, DantanII, Pingla, KharagpurI, KharagpurII, Sabang, Mohanpur, Narayangarh, Keshiari and Debra.[1] The three census towns are: Kharagpur Railway Settlement, Deuli and Balichak.[2]

Blocks

DantanI block

Rural area under DantanI block consists of nine gram panchayats, viz. Ainkola, Chak Ismailpur, Monoharpur, Alikosha, DantanI, Salikotha, Angua, DatanII and Tarurui.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Dantan police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Dantan.[4]

DantanII block

Rural area under DantanII block consists of seven gram panchayats, viz. Haripur, Porolda, Sauri Kotbar, Turka, Jenkapur, Sabra and Talda.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Dantan and Belda police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Khakurdah.[4]

Pingla block

Rural area under Pingla block consists of ten gram panchayats, viz. Dhaneswarpur, JalchakII, Kshirai, Pindurui, Gobordhanpur, Jamna, Kusumda, JalchakI, Karkai and Maligram.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Pingla police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Pingla.[4]

KharagpurI block

Rural area under KharagpurI block consists of seven gram panchayats, viz. Arjuni, Gopali, Kalaikunda, Vetia, Barkola, Hariatara and Khelarh.[1] Urban area under this block consists of one census town: Kharagpur Railway Settlement.[2] Kharagpur police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Matkatpur.[4]

KharagpurII block

Rural area under KharagpurII block consists of nine gram panchayats, viz. Chakmakampur, KaliaraII, PapararaI, Changual, Lachhmapur, PapararaII, KaliaraI, Palsya and Sankoa.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Kharagpur police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Madpur.[4]

Sabang block

Rural area under Sabang block consists of 13 gram panchayats, viz. Balpai, Danrra, Nawgaon, Bhemua, Bishnupur, Dashgram, Narayanbarh, Bural, Debhog, Sabang, Chaulkuri, Mohar and Sharta.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Sabang police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Sabang.[4]

Mohanpur block

Rural area under Mohanpur block consists of five gram panchayats, viz. Mohanpur, Sautia, Tanua, Neelda and Shialsai.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Mohanpur police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Mohanpur.[4]

Narayangarh block

Rural area under Narayangarh block consists of 16 gram panchayats, viz. Bakhrabad, Hemchandra, Manya, Pakurseni, BeldaI, Khursi, Mokrampur, Ranisarai, BeldaII, Kunarpur, Narayangarh, Tutranga, Gramraj, Kushbasan, Narma and Kashipur.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Natarayangarh and Belda police stations serve this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Belda.[4]

Keshiari block

Rural area under Keshiari block consists of nine gram panchayats, viz. Baghasthi, Keshiari, Lalua, Gaganeswar, Khajra, Nachipur, Ghritagram, Kusumpur and Santrapur.[1] Urban area under this block consists of one census town: Deuli.[2] Keshiari police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Keshiari.[4]

Debra block

Rural area under Debra block consists of 14 gram panchayats, viz. Bhabanipur, DuanI, Khanamohan, Satyapur, Bharatpur, DuanII, Malighati, SnarpurLoyada, DebraI, Golgram, RadhamohanpurI, DebraII, Jalimanda, RadhamohanpurII.[1] Urban area under this block consists of one census town: Balichak.[2] Debra police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Balichak.[4]
