Khaleed Leon "Khleo" Thomas (born January 30, 1989), or simply Khleo Thomas, is an American actor,[1] rapper, singer, & entertainer best known for his role as Zero in Holes and Mixed Mike in Roll Bounce. Khleo also starred in other films like Walking Tall (2004) and Remember the Daze (2007). Currently, Khleo is working on his debut album Just A Sample.
Early life
Thomas was born in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Raquel and Leon Thomas, the latter of whom is an army officer who at the time was stationed in Alaska.[2] Khleo's mother is a Jewish immigrant from Morocco and his father is African-American.[2][3][4] After living in Germany, the family returned to the continental United States when he was four.[2]
Music career
Music beginnings
Thomas starred in the 2003 Disney film Holes, adapted from Louis Sachar's Holes of the same name. One of the movie's soundtrack songs, "Dig It," earned him some popularity in the music world. In 2005 Thomas began really working on music when he started being associated with fellow rapper/actor/entrepreneur Bow Wow & his label LBW. He was featured in Bow Wow's fifth studio album The Price of Fame & numerous of his mixtapes. He also made an cameo appearance in Bow Wow's "Fresh Azimiz" music video.
2010-present: Mixtapes, EPs, Collaborations & Just A Sample
On January 11, 2010 Thomas released his debut mixtape The World Is A Cartoon.[5][6] In early 2010, Thomas was associated to Soulja Boy's label SODMG Entertainment but would end up not officially signing with them. On August 12, 2010 Thomas announced via his Twitter he was working on his debut album entitled Just A Sample which was originally intended to be his mixtape.[7] On September 22, 2010 during an interview Thomas announced that his first single would be entitled "Lights Out" & announced the start up of his label Zero Unlimited Inc..[8] In late September, 2010 Thomas would make an opening performance in California on the "How The West Was One Tour" with Snoop Dogg & Ice Cube. In 2010 Thomas would sign a record deal with independent label The Plus Records. Also in 2010 Thomas would release a snippet of "Let Go" a song that was supposed to be on the Just A Sample, it samples "Let Go" originally by Frou Frou.
On January 11, 2011 Thomas released his mixtape entitled The Next Episode, on a song entitled "Anniversary" Thomas would go more into detail about why he didn't officially sign to Soulja Boy's label SODMG Entertainment.[9][10] On February 15, 2011 Thomas would release his first single "Lights Out", but he would later dubbed it a promotional single.[11] On December 20, 2011 it was announced that Thomas had parted ways with The Plus Records & has signed new label deal with Executive Dream Music a division of Executive Music Group which is also distributed by Fontana. On December 23, 2011 Khleo released his mixtape entitled Slick Living.[12][13]
On March 6, 2012 Thomas would release his single entitled "So Many Girls", the music video would reach #10 on BET's 106 & Park.[14] On November 13, 2012 Thomas released a collaborative EP with singer/rapper Chris Batson entitled After Everything Fades.[15][16]
On December 28, 2014 Thomas released his EP Raised In The 90's via his Soundcloud.[17]
Thomas is still currently working on his debut album Just A Sample which will be released sometime in 2016.
Other ventures
Acting career
In 1998, Thomas's first television appearance was on an episode of Bill Cosby's Kids Say the Darndest Things.
He has since starred in such films as Friday After Next (2002), Holes (2003), Going to the Mat (2004), Walking Tall (2004) & Roll Bounce (2005).
In 2006, Thomas guest-starred in Poppin' Tags, an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and in the season four episode of House, "Ugly" in 2007. He also co-starred in the first episode of the television series Teachers, which was canceled after six episodes. He was in the main roles of movies such as Remember the Daze (2007) & Hurricane Season (2009).
In 2010, Khleo starred in the action film Boogie Town.
Fashion designing
In 2011, Thomas released his necklace line he designed himself, called "Love Wings".[18]
In 2013, Thomas released his official clothing line entitled "Slick Living Appearel" which is branded off his label Slick Living Inc.[19]
