Khodynts

The Khodynts or Khodyns (Russian: Ходынцы; Khodyntsy) were one of the 13 tribes of the Yukaghir people of northern Siberia. They were primarily engaged in hunting and fishing. There were approximately 620 Khodynts by the 17th century, as their numbers were greatly reduced by tribal conflicts and health epidemics. A large number died in a 1692-1693 smallpox epidemic,[1] and the remaining Khodynts ultimately merged with the ethnic Russian and Yukaghir population.[2]
