There are various castes people residing in Khuri such as Rajputs, Jats, Barbers, Brahmins, Jangids, Dholis, Harijans etc.The Rajputs belongs to the Shekhawat sub-clan of Kachwaha Rajputs and are descendants of Ladaji (and thus are called as Ladkhanis). In 1935 their claims to certain privileges led to a series of clashes between them and the Rajputs, who resisted their attempts to revise accepted signs of status. The clash of 1935 is reminiscent of similar ones in other areas between lower castes on the rise and higher established castes. Bridegroom apart from Rajput caste were not allowed to ride a horse on wedding. Nevertheless it happened once and lead it to a big disputes among Jat and Rajput.
