Kindergarten Cop 2 is an upcoming American comedy film starring Dolph Lundgren and directed by Don Michael Paul. It is the sequel to the 1990 comedy film Kindergarten Cop starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.[1][2] Principal photography started in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on July 27, 2015.[3] The film will be released direct-to-video on May 17, 2016 in the United States.[4][5]

Synopsis

A federal agent must go undercover as a kindergarten teacher, to recover a missing flash drive from the Federal Witness Protection Program.[6] To help him with his mission is Sanjt, his Indian sidekick.[7]

Production

On June 1, 2015, it was reported that The Garden and Half Past Dead director Don Michael Paul will direct the film. Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be reprising his role as Detective John Kimble. Arnold Schwarzenegger's character Detective John Kimble is now officially retired from being a kindergarten teacher and a police officer. Schwarzenegger was replaced by Dolph Lundgren as a new character Agent Reed. On December 21, 2015—the twenty-fifth anniversary of the theatrical release of the original Kindergarten Cop—the first official photos of Kindergarten Cop 2 were released via About.[8]
