Kirby Misperton is a small village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England.
Geography
It is located about 4 miles south from Pickering by road and about 7½ miles north from Malton. It is just west of the A169 road.
Adjacent to the village lies one of the most popular amusement parks in England, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo.[2] A gas field is nearby which pumps gas to the Knapton Generating Station, having been discovered in January 1985. The fields were originally bought by Kelt UK Ltd (owned by Kelt Energy plc and Edinburgh Oil & Gas plc) in April 1992 from Candecca Resources Ltd (owned by BP).
History
The parish church is dedicated to St Lawrence.
