Kjøllsæter Bridge

Kjøllsæter Bridge (Norwegian Kjøllsæterbrua) is an 158 metres (518 feet) long wooden bridge that crosses the river Renaelva in Åmot, Hedmark in Norway. The bridge connecting two big military training areas for the Rena Camp, is build for tank guns and other heavy machines crossing it. It also gives the people living in Rød area a better road connection. The bridge is keeping the NATO standard, and stand 109 metric tons on a span of 30 metres. Kjøllsæter Bridge is probably one of the strongest wooden bridges in the world. The clearance to the water is 5,5 metres.

Kjøllsæter bridge was opened 17th of August 2006. Total cost reached 32 million Norwegian kroner. This equivalates to about 6 million USD.
