Klyne Snodgrass
Klyne Ryland Snodgrass (born December 28, 1944) is an American theologian and author, who served as professor of New Testament Studies at the North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois from 1974-2015. His publication Stories with Intent: A Comprehensive Guide to the Parables of Jesus garnered a 2009 Christianity Today Book Award.[1]
Education and background
Snodgrass earned his B.A. from Columbia Bible College, his M.Div. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and his Ph.D. in 1973 from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, where he completed a dissertation on "The Christological Stone Testimonia in the New Testament."[2] He taught at Georgetown College in Kentucky from 1973 to 1974, when he joined the faculty of North Park Theological Seminary. From 1988 to 1993, he served as dean of faculty there, and currently holds the Paul W. Brandel Chair of New Testament Studies.
Snodgrass is ordained by the Southern Baptist Convention and has been a visiting scholar at Tyndale House, Cambridge, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the University of Tübingen, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Duke Divinity School.[2]
