Kocahıdır is a belde (town) in İpsala district of Edirne Province, Turkey. At 40°49′N 26°24′E / 40.817°N 26.400°E Kocahıdır is 17 kilometres (11 mi) south east of İpsala. The town is divided into three parts by two parallel creeks flowing to south west. The population of Kocahıdır was 1116[1] as of 2013. Kocahıdır was founded in 1893 by 66 Muslim families from Bulgaria. In 1938 during another migration, Muslim families from Romania were also settled in Kocahıdır. In 1999 Kocahıdır was declared a seat of township.[2] Most important economic sector of the town is dairying.
