Kolej Matrikulasi Johor
Johor Matriculation College (Malay: Kolej Matrikulasi Johor) (KMJ) is a pre-university tertiary education college under Matriculation Division, Ministry of Education (MOE) (Malay: Bahgaian Matrikulasi, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia) in preparing students for the entrance of university. The college was established in March 2002. Its campus is in Tangkak, Ledang, Johor.
The Infrastructures
Student Dormitories
There are six student dormitories; two for boys and four for girls. Block A is known as Al-Zahrawi,while Block B is known as Al-Kindi. Both of the blocks are dedicated to boys studying in the junior college.
Block C is known as Al-Jazari. Block D is known as Al-Razi. Block E is known as Al-Biruni. Block F is known as Al-Khawarizmi. The four blocks are dedicated to girls pursuing education in the junior college.
Each of the blocks are built such that the nearest two (i.e. Block A and Block B, Block C and Block D and Block E and F) are laterally inverted in its building infrastructure. There are a total of 4 levels (does not include ground floor). The Ground Floor has at least 4 houses that are built specially for the felo. Felo are the ones responsible for the whole block of the disciplinary of the members. Each block are represented by one colour and the colour changes each year. This can be proven such that in the KAKOM event (Karnival Kokurikulum Matrikulasi, in English: Matriculation Co Curricular Carnival), in the KAKOM Running Event, each block are assigned to their own company colour.
Cafeterias
The 4 Cafe are assigned to four different location. Cafe A, only available to boys are located in between Block A and Block B. Cafe B and Cafe C are located in between Block C and D and Block E and F respectively. Lecturers' Cafe is located near to the Administration Block. The Lecturers' Cafe however allow the students to coexist together and hence a small certain number of boys and girls prefer to eat there instead of the other cafes.
Libraries
Also known as Pusat Sumber Zaaba. The infrastructure are located at the diagonal of the college. In other terms, the library are built in the middle of the college. At the side of the library is the JPP Action Room. The Language Lab also with the Library. There are a total of 3 Discussion Room which is A, B and Relaxation Room. In the top level of the library, there is also a computer lab with free Wi-Fi provided to the students. It is also known as Teenagers' Cyber Room.
Tutorial Classrooms and Science Laboratoies
Tutorial blocks are located at the side of the library which is near to the examination block. The block containing the tutorial rooms has three levels, each level having an average of 16 tutorial rooms. The ground floor has 7 chemistry labs, first floor has 5 biology labs and the second floor has 7 physics labs.
Lecturer Halls (DKB 1 and DKB 2, DKK 1-4)
There are a total of six lecture hall. DKB (Dewan Kuliah Besar, in English, Large Lecture Hall) 1 and 2 are so special such that the designs are specially made. DKB 1 uses red chairs equipped with table separately. DKB 2 however, consist of slanted table with chairs specially built for each individuals.
DKK (Dewan Kuliah Kecil, in English, Small Lecture Hall) 1, 2, 3, 4 have the same structure. Chairs are specially fused to the table.
Office
This is also known as Admin Block, built near the Lecturers' Cafe. Consisting of One Stop Centre for the usage of students to revise and study, the block has three levels. Ground Floor consist of Dewan Sri Temenggung in which usually certain campaigns and activities are held here (capacity of 200 Individuals) and equip with a secret passage to a hidden toilet that also linked to the Counselling Room. Third Level consist of Scientific Subject and Second Floor for other subject including Mathematics.
Programme
As the KMJ was under administered of Matriculation Division,Ministry of Education, it will follow all the programme that arranged by the division.
One-year Programme
One-year programme (Program Satu Tahun) or PST was main programme offered by matriculation college. This programme's student was often be the first intake.
Two-year Programme
Two-year programme (Program Dua Tahun) or PDT was second main programme offered by matriculation division. This programme was offered to the second intake students or the one who failed to achieve necessary GPA on first semester exam and also to PST's student who want to change programme.
