Konrad Schaub

Konrad Schaub (born in Edmonton, Alberta) was a Canadian ice dancer. His partner was Allison MacLean. The two began skating together in 1981. They worked their way up the Canadian categories from Juvenile to Senior in the discipline of ice dancing. In 1988, they represented Canada at Junior Worlds in Brisbane, Australia, finishing 4th. They competed in Mentana, Italy at the international Autumn Trophy Mezzaluna that same year, placing 3rd.[1]

In 1992 MacLean and Schaub moved to Vienna, Austria and began training under Olympic coach Peter Schubl. Allison was granted citizenship in 1994, enabling the team to compete in international competitions representing Austria. As the champions of Austria, MacLean and Schaub went on to win international medals. They represented Austria at European Championships, as well as the World Championships in 1995 and 1996.

1996 was their last year of competing. Coincidentally, their final competition, the 1996 World Championships, were held in their hometown of Edmonton. Upon their retirement from competitive skating, they were the world's longest standing team, having skated together for 15 years.
