Kota Junction railway station is a railway station on the West Central railway network. It is the headquarters of Kota railway division of West Central Railway zone.[1]

Kota is the only station in Rajasthan followed by Jaipur & Ajmer, connected to all the major cities of India. It is an important station on the Delhi-Mumbai (via Vadodara ) main line. There is a dedicated Jan Shatabdi that runs between Kota & Hazrat Nizamuddin. Another suburban station of South Kota city is Dakaniya Talav Railway station is second largest station in kota which has a stoppage of Bandra Terminus Gorakhpur Avadh Express, Dehradun Express and Ranthambore Express

A broad-gauge railway facility between Kota and Jodhpur via Jaipur exists. Kota is also an originating point for many trains like Kota–Damoh Passenger (Kota–Katni Passenger) connecting Kota to Damoh in Madhya Pradesh. The other includes, Kota–Vadodara Passenger, Kota–Hanumangarh Express, Kota–Ajmer, Kota–Jabalpur & Kota–Bina Passenger. Patna–Kota Express connects Kota and Patna cities via Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi.
