Kotal-e Hindukush (Persian: کوتل هندوکش, abbreviation of Koh and Tal [2] is a mountain pass in Parwan Province, Afghanistan. It is localed north of Parwan and southwest of Salang Pass (Persian: کوتل سالنگ) west of the highway Jabal Saraj in the height of the village Taj coordinates: (35.311203,69.114618) (Persian: تاج, Crown) and Kotal e Taj (Persian: کوتل تاج , Taj Pass. Kotal e Hindukusch is 6 km from the mountain under the name Silsilah ye Koh e Hindukush. The Pass is one of the highest passes in the country. It is 205 m lower than the mountain Band e Hindukush (Band mean lake or dam and also abbreviation of Darband (Persian: دربند mountain close orStrait) or Kohband (Persian: کوه بند )
