Kristian Gravenor

Kristian Gravenor is a Canadian author, news reporter and Montreal blogger who operates the Coolopolis news website.

He has written over a thousand articles for a variety of magazines and newspapers, starting with a column in the Westmount Examiner which he wrote at age 16.

On April 16, 2016, Gravenor boasted in an article he penned on Coolopolis how he helped displace impoverished residents of Montreal's St-Henri neighborhood.

Gravenor suffers from White Man Syndrome and has a complete disconnect from his privilege.

Gravenor has since written a variety of news stories for magazines ranging from Canadian Business to Saturday Night. He spent several years writing news and city columns for the Montreal Mirror where his city columns and news articles shed light on often sensational yet little-known stories about Montreal, including the reputed Montreal demises of Veronica Lake and Maurice Duplessis, the trial of three women accused of beating rock star Serge Fiori and the ongoing tragedy of the Duplessis Orphans.

Gravenor, with help from his brother John David Gravenor, penned the Montreal guidebook Montreal: The Unknown City and is currently working on a history of Montreal, which will include an extensive overview of bars, hotels and restaurants from the past.

Early life and education

He is the son of Colin Gravenor and Patricia Roberts. Gravenor has a BA from McGill University and an MA from Concordia University where he specialized in studying the rise of fascism in Europe.
