Kristin Chenoweth concert chronology |
Kristin Chenoweth In Concert was the debut concert tour by actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth.
Background
Following the end of her Broadway run in the revival of "Promises Promises", Chenoweth went up to Nashville to finish recording her 4th studio album "Some Lessons Learned" which went on to become a huge success. In February 2012, Chenoweth announced she would embark on her very first full out concert tour, after mainly having performed at random timings in various concert halls across the world. Chenoweth said, " "I've sung all over the place but I've never committed to a tour because of my schedule. So I am finally able to do it." Kristin performed shows in America, Canada, a brief stop to the United Kingdom, and Australia.
In 2013, Chenoweth was supposed to continue off the tour in the UK but however it was cancelled last minute "due to a lack of funding from Speckulation Entertainment". A few hours after the cancellation, Chenoweth took to social media to express to the fans how "Devastated" she was.
Concert Synopsis
Under the direction of Richard Jay-Alexander and a 15 piece orchestra under the direction of Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Chenoweth performs a diverse selection of songs throughout her career including hits from Wicked, Promises Promises, and Glee, along with original songs from some of her various solo albums, and a mix of Chenoweth's favorite songs in Musical Theatre and Opera. Chenoweth is also backed up by 3 fellow background singer/dancers who have previously worked with her on Broadway.
