Kristin Kontrol
Kristin Kontrol is the stage name of Kristin Welchez; an American musician, singer and songwriter.[1] Kristin is best known as founder and lead singer of indie rock band Dum Dum Girls (using the pseudonym Dee Dee).[2] Many people believe Dee Dee's stage name was inspired by Dee Dee Ramone, but she has stated that this is not true; it was her mother's name, which she took as her middle name after her death.[3]
On January 28, 2016, Welchez announced Kristin Kontrol as her new solo project.[4] Her debut album, X-Communicate, is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016 on Sub Pop Records.
