2001 Kuala Lumpur FA season

Kuala Lumpur competed in the Premier 1, Malaysia Cup and FA Cup in season 2001. They finished 10th in the league, but were eliminated from the FA Cup by a second division team and lost all their group matches in the Malaysia Cup. There was a strange arrangement with the coaching structure as Iraqi Wathiq Naji Jassim, hired as technical director, appeared to be in charge of team selection and tactics at the expense of the nominally-appointed coach Lim Kim Lian. Foreign players were barred for this season.
