Kulkul tower
For the Goan dessert confection, see filhós.
A kulkul tower is a tower housing a signal drum (kulkul) in the temple architecture of Bali. The drum is used to warn of attack, fire or communicate notice of a communal event.
The kulkul in Tenganan is beaten 21 times each morning to start the day. The Menara Kudus Mosque in Java features a similar structure.[1]
