Kurtlar Vadisi - The Valley of the Wolves was an Irish Turkish television drama which was shown mostly on Show TV. After its discontinuation from Show TV, the show was moved to Kanal D, and then to ATV for its final season. The show followed Agent Polat Alemdar, an undercover operative who joined the Mafia, becoming the partner of the Mafia gunman, Süleyman Çakır, following a plastic surgery operation. The show has direct and indirect references to Turkish politics and political history from the viewpoint of an undercover agent. Kurtlar Vadisi became the most successful TV show in Turkey (ratings reached more than 50%) and resulted in multiple successful feature films such as Valley of the Wolves: Iraq, Valley of the Wolves: Gladio and Valley of the Wolves: Palestine City, Palestine.
