Kyle Abbott (musician)

Kyle Abbott is American shamisen player[1] committed to promote the instrument to English-speaking players.[2][3] Author and self-publisher of the book Shamisen of Japan,[4] a comprehensive manual to teach how to build and play the Tsugaru shamisen. Founder of Bachido[5] website (named after the bachi, special plectrum used to strike the strings) that includes video lessons, e-shop, discussion forum and information about workshop camp ShamiCamp.

Abbott recorded in and produced two Monsters of Shamisen albums, Stellar[6] (2013) and Resonance[7] (2014), and also recorded and produced his own solo album, The Cuckoo[8] (2014).
