Kyle Chalmers (born 25 June 1998) is an Australian competitive swimmer who specializes in the sprint freestyle events. He holds the junior world record in the 100 meter freestyle.
Career
Chalmers won the gold medal in the 50 and 100 meter freestyle events at the 2015 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in Singapore.[4][5] For swimming in the heats, he won a silver medal in the 4×100 m medley relay at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia.
At the 2016 Olympic trials, Chalmers qualified for the Olympics by finishing 2nd in the 100 meter freestyle, behind Cameron McEvoy. He broke the junior world record with a time of 48.03.[6]
Personal life
Chalmers is the son of former Australian rules football player Brett Chalmers.[7]
