La Fayette Eastman
La Fayette Eastman was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Biography
Eastman was born on January 22, 1819 in Ellisburg, New York. On May 9, 1848, Eastman married Lydia T. Marsh.[1] They would have four children. Eastman would own two farms and a sawmill in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. He died on April 27, 1898.
His brother, Enos Eastman, would become a member of the Assembly and of the Wisconsin State Senate.
Political career
Eastman was a member of the Assembly during the 1879 session.[2] He previously been a candidate for the Assembly in 1872. Other positions Eastman held include Chairman (similar to Mayor) and Assessor of Plymouth, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin and a member of the County Board of Sheboygan County. He was a Republican.
