La Gaceta de México was a Spanish language newspaper published in Mexico . It was first published in 1722 making it first newspaper to be published in America. It was started by a Juan Ignacio Maria de Castorena a clergyman and Goyeneche Castorena was the Editor. [1][2][3][4][5]
