"La Raza" is a popular hip-hop song, featuring both English and Spanish lyrics, recorded by the Mexican-American rapper Kid Frost and featured on the album Hispanic Causing Panic.[1] "La Raza", which is Spanish for "the race" or more symbolically "the people", is featured on the soundtrack to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, playing on West Coast hip hop radio station Radio Los Santos.[2] The song also charted at number 42 at Billboard. It is also considered to be one of the first successful Latin rap songs. The song samples El Chicano's "Viva Tirado" from 1970 (a cover of the famous Gerald Wilson jazz composition). There is a remix featuring Scoop Deville, Lil Rob and Diamonique.

Video

The video, which aired regularly on Yo! MTV Raps, was among the first to feature lowrider cars and trucks equipped with hydraulic suspensions. It was also groundbreaking in featuring various elements of Chicano culture.
