Lachnospiraceae is a bacterium family in the order of Clostridiales which occure in the human and mammal gut flora.[2][3][4][5] All species of this family are anaerobe.[5] Members of this family can cause obesity and can protect from colon cancer in humans by producing butyric acid.[6]
