Ladislav Vodička (10 January 1931 in Prague 7 March 1999) was a Czech country music singer and songwriter, who performed for the group Jiri Brabec and then with his own group Hydrophilidae. Vodička graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering CTU. Singing began in 1961 with an amateur band Tempest. In 1966 he Brabec offered involvement in the group of Country Beat and in the same year together with him went to the Semafor theatre. Ladislav Vodicka founded his own group in 1974 called Hydrophilidae. His biggest hit was Řidič tvrdej chleba má. (The driver has a hard bread). Throughout their careers are devoted to the singer's style "country" and earned the nickname "Czech Johnny Cash."
