Lal Bazar is a notified area used mainly for residential purposes in the municipal committee of Srinagar. The area comes under the Hazratbal contiuency of Srinagar district.
Tourists get attracted to Lal Bazar as parts of the area are surrounded with Kashmir's famous Nigeen lake. Many famous personalities like Imdad Saqi , Sultan ul Haq shaheedi and, Mohammad Shafi Khan live here. Valley's well know poet Late Syed Akbar Jaipuri's grandson Syed Zeeshan Jaipuri , who is known to be kashmir's youngest poet also lives in the area.

Lal Bazar is located at a distance of about 11.6 km from the City Centre of Srinagar via Hawal-Mill stop road link and 12.5 km via Munuwara-Hazratbal road link.[4]
