Distilling beloved American music genres into a distinct signature style, songwriter, bassist and singer Rob Deurenberg and his band of accomplished musicians bring a fresh yet subtly familiar sound to every performance. Evocative melodies with a jazzy edge – at times unabashedly tinged with poppy dynamics – weave around well-crafted lyrics, tight grooves and catchy hooks. The result is an infectious and unforgettable original sound that demands attention and repeated listens. And bringing it all together with finesse and supple flair is Rob’s sonorous voice. Lalouzz’s music is often compared with their biggest influences: Sting, Supertramp, Steely Dan and Stevie Wonder. Led by Rob Deurenberg, the band creates their music within a framework that allows each individual musician plenty of room for improvisation. As a live experience, Lalouzz harmoniously blends raw talent and energy with smooth inspiration. Transcending time and genres, the band is an exhilarating experience not to be missed. The band has released 2 albums, Near But Nevertheless (2009), and We Love Mixing It Up (2012) with as special guest guitarist Jesse van Ruller.
