Lap lap (sometimes spelled laplap) is the national dish of Vanuatu.[1] Laplap is prepared by pounding taro or yam roots into a paste, followed by cooking them with fresh coconut cream with some pork, beef, chicken or flying fox in taro or spinach leaves in an underground oven.[2]
