Lares was an Ancient city and bishopric in Roman Africa and remains a Latin Catholic titular see.

Its modern location is Henchir Lorbeus in present Tunisia.

History

Lares was important enough in the Late Roman province of Africa Proconsularis to become one of the many suffragans of its capital Carthage's Metropolitan Archbishopric, but like most was to fade.

Titular see

The diocese was nominally restored as a Latin Catholic titular bishopric in the 18th century, until 1933 also called Lari in Curiate Italian.
