Lartiste

Lartiste (born 4 July 1985) is a Moroccan singer, rapper and songwriter living in France.

Born as Youssef Akdim in a small town south of Marrakesh, Morocco, he immigrated to France at age 6 residing in Aulnay-sous-Bois, in Seine Saint Denis and later to Le Blanc Mesnil. At age 13, he became part of a rap band Malédiction and at 16 adopted the stage name Lartiste (the artist in French). He also became a music instructor in Montfermeil, a suburb of Paris.

He released "Evasion", his first maxi solo in 2006 and joined the collective French Cut releasing a mixtape Rap 1.9 in 2010. Going solo, his 2013 studio album called Lalbum (the album in French) introduced various musical influences including funk, soul, pop, electro and African sounds. In April 2015, he released his second studio album Fenomeno and in March 2016, he released his third album, "Maestro".
