Laser survey
Laser survey or airborne field surveying by laser is a name of an airborne survey system based on lidar (LIght raDAR).
The raw data from the laser survey are a 3D-pointcloud representing all footprints (hits) of the scanner. From this no interpretation of the object is possible.
Advanced software is used to reduce and interpret data for the Digital Terrain Model (DTM). On this basis and combined with photographs, a vectorized map can be produced.
