Lauren Flaherty is the Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of CA Technologies,[1][2][3] a leader in enterprise software.

She joined CA in August 2013, after two consecutive CMO roles with Juniper Networks and Nortel Networks and a 25-year marketing career at IBM. The scope of her expertise and experience covers a broad spectrum: brand management and stewardship, product marketing and portfolio management, and digitally driven customer engagement, experience and demand creation. Lauren is an experienced leader who has served a diverse profile of companies, from globally recognized technology leaders to Silicon Valley challengers. Today, Lauren is responsible for all facets of CA marketing around the globe, and since joining she has led a company-wide initiative to recast the company’s reputation and positioning in the market, influencing both CA’s long-term development strategy and product portfolio. In addition to her role at CA, Lauren serves on the Board of Directors for Xactly Corporation, a market leader in SaaS-based tools for enterprise sales performance management and effectiveness.

Prior to joining CA, Lauren served as CMO of Juniper Networks during a period of significantly accelerated growth. Lauren built modern, enterprise go-to-market capabilities for Juniper and during her tenure Juniper’s brand elevated into the top tier of networking companies. At Nortel, Lauren was responsible for all marketing and built the first fully integrated marketing operating model, aligning corporate, product and regional marketing to unified execution, financial management and results reporting.

Lauren’s career in IBM marketing spanned 25 years. She held senior executive roles in IBM Corporate Marketing, Software and Systems Business Units and Latin America, and was a member of the IBM CEO Senior Leadership Team. Lauren was the lead for all IBM global brand & advertising programs in the mid-nineties, a period when the company’s advertising was widely acknowledged as central to the turnaround of IBM. Lauren has been recognized multiple times by BtoB Magazine as one of the World's Top Marketers and was profiled in Secrets of the Marketing Masters, 2009. In 2010, she was named one of The Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley by the San Jose Business Journal, and in 2015 she was recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of the 50 Most Powerful Woman in Technology.

Early life and education

Lauren holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, New York.[4] She is married, has two children and lives in New York City.
