Laurence Thomas "Laurie" Hergenhan (born 1931 in Bega, New South Wales)[1] is an Australian literary scholar. He is the founder and former editor of Australian Literary Studies (1963) and editor of the 1988 Penguin New Literary History of Australia[2][3] and has published on Xavier Herbert.[4] He is a professor emeritus of the University of Queensland.
