Lawrence Brainard

Lawrence J. Brainard is a founding partner and Chief Economist at Trusted Sources, the emerging markets research and consultancy firm headquartered in London.[1] He is a veteran global emerging markets economist and investment strategist.[2] He was formerly Co-Head of Emerging Debt Markets at Goldman Sachs before becoming Global Head of Emerging Market Research at Chase Manhattan Bank.

During the 1980s he headed economic committees responsible for advising creditor banks on the restructuring of the sovereign debt of Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Yugoslavia and Nigeria.

He has a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago.
