Lawson Marc D'Ath (born 24 December 1992) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for League Two side Northampton Town.

Club career

Reading

Born in Witney, Oxfordshire, D'Ath was selected in a Reading matchday squad for the first time on 11 August 2010, remaining an unused substitute in their 10 League Cup first round win away to Torquay United.[3] He signed a new two-year professional contract in April 2011, having scored at a prolific rate for the reserve and Academy teams.[4][5] He made his debut on 7 January 2012 in the Third Round of the FA Cup against Stevenage, coming on as an 87th-minute substitute for Shaun Cummings.[6]

On 9 February 2012, D'Ath joined Yeovil Town on a one-month youth loan.[7] He made his league debut in Yeovil's League One win against Wycombe Wanderers and scored his first career goal against Colchester United in the following match.[8] On 11 April his loan was extended for the rest of the season.[9]

On 25 October 2012 D'Ath joined Cheltenham Town on loan for a month.[10] He made his debut against Exeter City on 27 October and scored the first goal as Cheltenham won 3–0.[11] After playing only two games D'Ath picked up a knee injury which ruled him out for several weeks. Despite that his loan was extended on 22 November until January.[12] After making just one further appearance as a second-half substitute his loan was not extended further and he returned to Reading on 2 January 2013.[13] Two months later D'Ath joined fellow League Two side Exeter City on a one-month youth loan.[14][15] He made his debut on 16 March against Bradford City, scoring the second goal in a 4–1 win,[16] and made a further seven appearances before returning to Reading at the end of the season.

In November 2013 he joined Dagenham & Redbridge on a one-month emergency loan.[17][18] His loan was extended for a second month at the end of December,[19] though in the first game after the renewal he was sent off for two bookable offences.[20] In January, his stay was extended until the end of the season,[21] with manager Wayne Burnett revealing that Reading would continue to pay all of D'Ath's wages.[22]

Northampton Town

On 12 May 2014, D'Ath was released by Reading.[23] Following his release he had trials with Bristol Rovers, scoring in a 1–1 draw with Cirencester Town,[24] and Yeovil.[25] On 7 August, D'Ath signed a contract with Northampton Town until January 2015.[26] In September 2014, D'Aths contract was extended until 2016,[27] before again being extended in February 2016, when D'ath signed a new Two-and-a-half-year contract with Northampton Town.[28]
