Lay It on the Line is a British melodic hardcore band from London. They were formed in 2012 by Phinius Gage member Mike Scott, his brother Matt and Dave Smith, who was originally guitarist in Not Katies.[2] They wrote their demo in a single evening and recorded it in a single day.[3] Championed by Radio 1 DJ Mike Davies before they had played a show,[4] the band have so far gone on to release four EPs. Their current line-up features Duncan (formerly of Hang the Bastard).

The band, like Holy Terror bands such as Integrity, theme their music on The Process Church of The Final Judgment.[5] They have become one of the symbolic bands of the Process.[6]
