Leah Turner is an American country singer. She has released two singles for Columbia Records Nashville.

Career

Turner was born in California. She lived on her family's ranch in Morongo Valley, California and began singing when she was six years old. She attended a songwriting class at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she sang before Kenny Loggins. He convinced her to move to Los Angeles, California, where she was paired with record producer Humberto Gatica's wife, Beverly. Dissatisfied with the work she had produced with Gatica, Turner moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2012.[1][2]

She was signed to Columbia Records Nashville in July 2013, and her debut single, "Take the Keys," was released on October 7, 2013. Turner co-wrote it with Cary Barlowe and Jesse Frasure; they also co-produced it with Jim Catino. It debuted at number 60 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart dated for the week ending October 19, 2013.[3] Matt Bjorke of Roughstock rated the single 4.5 stars out of 5, saying that "The vocals power through the speakers, backed by a rollicking, tempo-filled mandolin lead melody and they make you stop and pay attention."[4] It reached a peak of number 37 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in early 2014. "Pull Me Back," which was released as her second single, failed to reach the Top 40. In October 2014, Turner parted ways with Sony Music Nashville.
