Lebanese Air Transport s.a.l. is a licensed charter airline and a Ground Handling Company based in Beirut, Lebanon and is owned by Abela Group.

Lebanese Air Transport (LAT), was launched on August 18, 1958 on the strength of Presidential Decree # 20168 which reads as follows:

“The President of the Lebanese Republic based on the Council of Minister's decision taken during the council’s meeting of August 9, 1958.

The company's specialties are:

To perform either for its own account or for the account of others all kinds of air transport on charter basis and all activities related to this subject either directly or indirectly, which result in creating or participating in the creation of airlines or trading, or real estate companies, or in investing in such companies or agreements with persons that perform such activities and owning aircraft, land, buildings and equipment or any other financing for this purpose.

The company is governed by its by-laws and to applicable laws, provided the company does not exploit regular and charter services already being utilized by the Lebanese Airlines, and the airlines specified in the decision of the Council of Ministers, taken at this meeting of May 5, 1958 and by the Lebanese Air Charter company.

LAT also got the new Ministerial Approval, under the Minister Degree Number 1/460, dated on 8 September 2005.
