Lee Mi-ja, also known as Yi Mi-ja (hangul: 이미자, hanja: 李美子) (born October 30, 1941), is a South Korean Trot singer who rose to popularity in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 2003, at the invitation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, she performed at the Grand Theater of the Eastern Pacific in Pyongyang, becoming the first South Korean singer to perform in North Korea.[1]
