Legend High School is a public high school in Douglas County School District RE-1, and the first high school to be located within the city limits of Parker, Colorado since Parker High School was closed in 1958.[1]

Campus

Legend High School is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Hilltop Road and Canterberry Parkway, the entrance to the Parker neighborhood of Idyllwilde. It is an open campus school to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Cimarron Middle School is located adjacent to the Legend High School campus.

Athletics

The varsity athletic programs at Legend include Football, Volleyball, Wrestling, Soccer, Lacrosse, Baseball, Tennis, Softball, Swim, Cheer, Poms, Gymnastics, Golf, Track, and Cross Country. They compete in the 5A Continental League of the Colorado High School Athletics Association (CHSAA). In their early years, Legend established themselves in the state when their 2012-2013 basketball team made it to the final four in 5A state playoffs. This is the fastest ascent to the Final Four in Colorado Big School history.[2] They have continued their dominance as a top 10 team in the state since. Other notable achievements is when their 2012-2013 baseball team took 5A state runner-ups.

Legend High School hired Kevin Boley as their Athletic Director in 2014. Since then Boley has jumped started their varsity programs. One of his first moves was the hiring of a new head lacrosse coach, Scott Quattromani, who inherited a sub-par team, and in two years made them the Pride of Parker and lead them into their first playoff appearance. In 2016, Boley named former Cherokee Trail coach Monte Thelen[3] the new head football coach of the Titans. Thelen brings tremendous experience and is widely respected throughout the state. Other notable hires by Boley in 2016 include former CCU coach Verlyn Rosenthal as head volleyball coach and Kipp Meeks as their new head swim coach. The extensive coaching backgrounds of both principle Jason Jacobs and AD Kevin Boley has brought a lot of excitement, new coaching staffs, and small scale success as they have established themselves the power house school in Parker. Going forward Boley hopes to turn this small scale into state sized success.

Coliseum Crazies

The Crazies demonstrating their 'rollercoaster' at the 5A State Final Four in Boulder.

The always rowdy Coliseum Crazies[4] is the student-lead student section that cheers on the Titans at athletic events. One of the first things people talk about when they hear Legend High School is their student section. A published yahoo sports writer William Whelan had this to say about the Crazies, "I've watched thousands of games in [this state]. You guys brought it tonight as well as any student section I've watched."[5] A couple of the Crazies' staples at basketball games are the rollercoaster, I Believe, and Winning team Losing team chants. The biggest show out for the Crazies is when they play their cross town rival Chaparral high school. A win in this game always results in a classic storming of the court and as blogger Nick Grahm wrote, "...Legend has mastered the art of storming the court" he wrote after attending the Titans win over Chaparral in 2015 at the Coliseum. This 'crazy' fun environment has also turned useful to the Titans and not so useful to the opponent. A player from Rangeview High School tweeted after playing the Titans, "We let their crowd get to us."[6] The Legend of the Crazies lives on and is a Titan tradition handed down by the senior class each year to the soon to be seniors. This tradition gives Legend High School a fun and exciting atmosphere for students and their families.

Vocal Music Program

Legend High School Vocal music program includes over 350 students. The four choirs have received several awards in their brief existence. The choirs have traveled and performed nationally and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2013.

The Legend Band program includes the Marching and Concert Bands during the first semester. They are replaced by the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble during the second semester.
