The legislative assembly of the Amur region (to 2008 – Council of People's Deputies of the Amur region) — legislative and representative unicameral public authority of the Amur region, is constantly operating highest and only regulatory authority of area. Following the results of elections in Legislative assembly of the VI convocation a barrier there passed 4 parties: United Russia – 17 places, LDPR – 8 places, the CPRF – 8 places, Just Russia – 3 places. The United Russia received the majority of places, however it has no absolute parliamentary majority. The chairman — Nikolay of Savelyev ("United Russia").
