Lego Star Wars is a video game series based on the eponymous toy line created by the Lego Group based on the Star Wars movies.
History
Lego Star Wars: The Video Game (Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Microsoft Windows, Mac), based on the prequel trilogy of the Star Wars saga, was released in March 2005.
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Xbox, Xbox 360, Mac), based on the original trilogy, was released in September 2006. A mobile phone adaptation, Lego Star Wars II Mobile, developed by Universomo and published by THQ, was released on 11 December.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Microsoft Windows, Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Mac), a compilation of the first two games, was released in May 2007.
Lego Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2, based on the short film of the same name, was released to Lego.com and StarWars.com as a free online game in October 2009.
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Xbox 360), was announced on 9 February 2010. It was released on 22 March 2011.[1]
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS) was announced on 1 February 2016. It is slated to be released on 28 June 2016.[2]

Reception
Traveller's Tales president Jon Burton stated in a July 2008 interview with Variety that the series had collectively sold 15 million copies.[3] In May 2009, Wired reported combined sales of 20 million.[4] All the games were included in the Player's Choice, Platinum Hits, and Greatest Hits budget lines.
