Lencho Letta

Lencho Letta is an Oromo politician and activist.

History

Lencho Letta was the former Deputy Secretary General of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) in the 1980s and the 1990s, during the time it was part of the Ethiopian Tranisitonal Government. The OLF was later defeated by the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), a former ally. After a falling out with OLF members, Lencho Letta eventually turned his views from the independence of Oromia (the Oromo homeland) toward indemocratizing Ethiopia. He had a mission in the horn of Africa.

He currently resides in Oslo, Norway, and is the founder of the Oromo Democratic Front.
