Leslie Ware
Leslie Dale Ware is an attorney, inventor, and entrepreneur. In 2009, Ware founded PanOptisIP, a patent management and licensing firm.[1]
Early life and education
Leslie Ware grew up in Texas[2] and attended Southern Methodist University for a B.S. in Political Science (1989) and a J.D. (1992). Ware and his wife, Amy Abboud Ware, established the Amy and Les Ware Foundation.[3] The Foundation has contributed to causes at SMU, their alma mater, including the Meadows School of the Arts, the Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, and several scholarship funds.[4]
Career
Ware has been in the patent law field for over 20 years, and has litigation experience in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.[5] Ware has registered several patents.[6]
Up until 2013, Ware served on the SMU Dedman School of Law Board. He resigned after the dean of the law school was removed without board consultation.[7]
In 2016, Ware's firm acquired Unwired Planet for $30 million, with the possibility of $10 million additional paid two years after the closing. [8]
Private life
Ware currently resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and four children.
