Koch Media is a German media enterprise started in 1994 by Franz Koch and Klemens Kundratitz.[1] Koch Media is headquartered in Planegg, Germany.

The Koch Media group produces, markets and distributes digital entertainment products and accessories in Europe and North America. Its business areas include distribution of media products, including movies, software products and video games publishing under the Deep Silver label.

Koch Media has subsidiaries in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.[2]

History

Deep Silver

Deep Silver is Koch Media's video game label. Founded in 2002, it has published and co-published some major titles.[3] Deep Silver has released more than two hundred games since 2003.[6]

In 2013, Deep Silver attracted strong criticism for marketing the game Dead Island: Riptide with a statuette of a mutilated female torso, and for continuing to sell the statuette after initially apologizing for it.[7]
